Transaction Data
In this section you will learn about payment card transaction data.
A payment card transaction contains data derived from the card (for example, the card number), the terminal (for example, the merchant ID), the transaction (for example, the amount), together with other data which may be generated dynamically or added by intervening systems.
The international standard ISO 8583 specifies up to 128 data elements relating to the exchange of card originated transaction message data.
